Taylor Michael Blete

June 19, 1988 ~ August 24, 2019 (age 31) 31 Years Old

Tribute

Taylor Michael Blete was born in Hayward, California on June 19, 1988 and was raised in Tracy, California. He later lived his best years in ‘The Bay,’ making Alameda, California his home with the love of his life of 12 years. He passed away on August 24th, in Modesto, California at the age of 31 after a 6 year battle with Chondrosarcoma.
Taylor met his wife Beatriz, at a birthday party when they were just in Middle School. Their friendship grew from there. In High School he would walk her to classes and on Valentine’s Day their Senior Year, surprised her with a bouquet of roses. They have been each other’s one and only ever since.
He graduated from Merrill F. West High School in Tracy, California in 2006. He achieved his Bachelor’s degree in Animation and Visual Effects at SAE Expression College in Emeryville, California. Taylor did contract work for Giant Propeller as the lead stereoscopic roto artist, creating high detail mattes for stereoscopic 3D conversion for Capitan America: The First Avenger (2011) and Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (2012). In 2011 he began his 6-year career with AT&T as an Installation/Repair Technician and received certification in Fiber Optic Communication.
He enjoyed playing with and walking their “fur baby” Luna, a “not so mini” Australian Shepard. He and Beatriz brought Luna home as an emotional support service dog after Taylor’s diagnosis in 2013. A 49er Faithful, an Oakland A’s fan, a lover of video games, movies, food, and craft beer - Taylor had true passion for all of these. His group of friends were golden to him, and he enjoyed gaming with them, and had a sarcastic, yet friendly banter. He was more than happy to share his knowledgeable opinion on anyone’s choice of phone, TV or any technology in that regard. He was everyone’s Go-To tech guy. From an early age he was always tinkering and most recently was building an impressive computer system.
Taylor was brave, compassionate, and loyal. He fought hard, and after every surgery would come back resilient. His surgeons would tell him he was the strongest, most focused patient they had. That he was fearless!
Taylor and Beatriz planned his 30th Birthday celebration last Father’s Day with family and friends where they shared the news that they were expecting a baby that December. On December 3, 2018 he became a father to Thalia Amelia Blete. “Thalia,” meaning blooming flower; new life, was Taylor’s biggest joy. Her first words were “dada”, and they made each other smile every day. She is now the greatest gift to all of us who love him and will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his loving family: wife Beatriz Blete, daughter Thalia Blete, mother Debby Blete, father Milton Blete Jr., sisters Brittney O’Brien and Jessica Cosby, mother-in-law Adriana Ramirez, father-in-law Miguel Ramirez, sisters-in-law, Xochil Ramirez, Jazmin Ramirez and Jaylena Miller, brothers-in-law Bo O’Brien, Jason Cosby, Michael Ramirez, Christopher Cardona, and Christopher Miller, nephews Hank O’Brien, Calvin O’Brien, Hudson Cosby, Jayden Miller, Koa Miller, Elijah Cardona, Julian Cardona, Keoni Cardona, and Xander Ramirez, and nieces Carsen Cosby, Kalani Miller, Joy Miller, and Amayah Cardona.
Our families, both Blete and Ramirez, have been blessed to have Tay in our lives and will continue to come together to support Beatriz and Thalia, and keep his memory alive in our hearts and celebrations.
