Raymond A. Costa

Raymond Anthony Costa, 86, passed away on April 22, 2020 after losing a long heart battle.
Son of Manuel Machado Costa and Ludevina Theresa Costa. A resident of Tracy, California for 65+ years. He was a kind man, and worked hard until 83. He worked at Safeway for 60 years doing the job he loved.
Raymond had an infectious smile which could make anyone happy. He may not have been known as a man of many words, but when he spoke, you listened to what he had to say.
He loved to travel with his wife through Europe. In Spain he fell in love with Flamenco dancing, and stayed until 1am in the morning mystified by the energetic dancing. In summertime he loved to fly to Terceira, Azores, with his wife, and visit his in-laws while he enjoyed the ocean breeze from their terrace, where he could see not only the ocean as well as Mt. Brazil and "The Castelo de Sao Joao Batista". This was one of many historic locations that he enjoyed on the island such as “A Catedral de Angra”.
When he would need a moment to relax it was classical music he chose to listen to. He was married to Lucia for 48+ years. They were best friends, as well as husband and wife.
A beloved uncle, and a friend to many that will miss him greatly.
Raymond also served 2 years in the Navy. During his service he had the opportunity to see Japan and the Philippines.
He leaves behind his wife Lucia, in-laws Bertilde and Michael Kirstien, Vivina Pacheco. Sibilings: Robert Costa, Marie Bauknecht, Dolorenna Cardoza, Daniel Costa and wife Sandra, Thomas Costa and wife Sue, Judeann Williams, Timothy Costa, Annamae Navarra and husband Carl and Gerriann Costa. Deceased Sibilings: Manual Costa and John Costa. He had a special love for his 34 Nieces and Nephews, not only that, he also had many cousins who thought "A world of him".
Public Viewing will be on Thursday, May 7th, between 1-5pm.
Graveside Service will be on Friday, May 8th, at 11am.
