Tribute

Ralph F. Pombo Sr. passed away on Friday, January 31st at Sutter Tracy Hospital surrounded by his family. He had celebrated his 89th birthday on January 1st at a family party in his Tracy, CA home.
Ralph had recent health challenges but had remained active in the family ranching and farming business until the last few months. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher who was a native Tracyite. Ralph was a member of a large family most whom have been involved in agriculture for nearly 100 years in the area.
His active faith in our Lord was a comfort and inspiration to his family. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. He was a former National Director of the Pony of America horse club, a member of the Farm Bureau, an NRA member, an active member of the Republican party and was active in many activities to support local youth organizations such as FFA, 4H and youth sports.
Ralph was an avid sports fan who loved to watch his Giants and 49ers play but his number one priority was always his family. He would spend every chance he had with his children and his grandchildren and would beam with pride if you ever asked him about his family.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Onita M. Pombo, his sons Ralph Jr. (Shelly), Richard (Annette), Rodger (Robbin), Raymond (Shelly), and Randall (MaryAnn). His grandchildren, Brian (Kate), Julianne (Jerod Pimentel), Amanda, Collin, Richard Jr. (DeAnna), Rena’, Rachel, Sara, Matthew, Kaylee, Kristi, Karli, Samantha and Christopher. Great grandchildren, Jace, Jianna, Jaylee, Jessa, Tyler, Allie, Lucas, Aubree and Madison.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Isabel Pombo, his brothers Joe, Alfred, Damon, Ernest, George, and David Pombo. His sisters, Mary Pombo Gillen, Alice Pombo, Virginia Abel, and Isabel Mattos.
Services begin Sunday evening with visitation 5:00pm to 6:00pm followed by the Rosary at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., Tracy. A funeral mass will be said Monday morning at 11:00am at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave., Tracy, CA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Ralph’s name to the
St. Bernard’s building fund or the Trump 2020 re-election campaign.
