Patricia Elaine Johnson

January 20, 1959 ~ February 3, 2024 (age 65) 65 Years Old

Patricia “Trish” Elaine Johnson passed away peacefully on February 3rd, 2024 in her home in Tracy, California, with her husband and children by her side.

She was born on January 20th, 1959 and grew up in Newark with her loving parents and two brothers. She graduated beauty school becoming a hair stylist for several years before she married and had three children. As her family grew, she spent time as a stay home mom where she mastered the art of making her own baby food along with many other family projects. She later moved to Tracy where her family embraced a more rural lifestyle raising horses, sheep, pigs and chickens.

As her kids grew older, she continued her career as a make-up artist and florist. She radiated beauty and joy and brought smiles to everyone around her. In her 50s she established a nonprofit business, Saving Ferals, where she saved hundreds of feral cats a year in her home town and stopped the euthanizing of cats in the local shelter. In her spare time, she loved to bake cakes, cupcakes, and cookies, especially with her grandchildren!

Trish was survived by her husband Bill (William) of 45 years, three children Jeremy, Nicole, and Christina, their spouses Crystal, Robert, and John, and seven grandchildren Chloe, Susanna, Colton, Paisley, Elsie (due April 2024) and twins (due August 2024). Her most recent passion was her grandchildren and she was not shy about spoiling them with fun, sweets, and gifts! Her grandchildren always lit up her face with a big smile and were a huge part of her world.

She was blessed with a strong positive outlook and an enduring optimism that empowered her to live out her last two years to the fullest while she fought breast cancer. Quality time with family became a focus every weekend and many weekdays! She also took expansive family trips to Alaska, Yellowstone, and the family property at Eagle Lake. She chose to transition from this life in her home with the love and support of family by her side where she embraced her long time Christian faith, surrendering to God.

We celebrate and honor her life and legacy on February 24th at 2 o’clock in the afternoon which can be viewed on her @savingferals Instagram account. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to carry on her legacy of saving cats under Saving Ferals (carried on by her daughter Nicole) at or venmo at savingferals-2024.
