Palma Mary Cordova “Tia”, 95, born January 18, 1924 in Fresno, CA, passed away Tuesday, November 26th, 2019 in Tracy, CA surrounded by family. Her husband Roy Cordova preceded her in death. Sibling to Joseph Pugliese, Nola Alvarez and the late Lupe Zaragoza, mother to Marc Cordova, Tia to her 3 girls, Melissa, Angie and Ronnell, grandmother to Michael, Steven, Kevin and Jared, great great Aunt to Joey, Caitlin and Ali. In heaven, Tia also joins her grandniece, Tricia Rittger. She was blessed with numerous nephews and nieces.
She babysat for many years and loved getting visits from all the kids as they grew up. She was a longtime volunteer at the St. Bernard’s thrift store where she made lifelong friends and shared lots of laughs. She loved all her neighbors who became family over the 62 years she spent in her home as well as her morning coffee visits with her friends.
Tia was a Tracy resident and devoted Catholic that attended St. Bernard’s Church. She was loved by countless people in her community. She will always be remembered as a fun-loving, compassionate, selfless soul. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all her friends and family.
A Rosary will be held at 6:00pm on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S Central Ave, with visitation hours from 1:00-9:00pm. A Catholic Mass burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W Eaton Ave with a reception following from 1:00-4:00pm at Holy Family Center, 12100 Valpico Rd, Tracy, California.
