Maria "Eugenia" Teixeira

Maria (Eugenia) Teixeira, age 87, fell to her final resting place on July 29, 2019. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Carlos Teixeira, brothers George Sousa Felix, Moises Sousa Felix and Agostinho (Augie) Felix Sousa all of Tracy and sister, Cecilia Felix, of Madeira, Portugal. Eugenia immigrated to the United States in the late 60’s from Madeira, Portugal to join her brothers where she began her life of serving others. Eugenia had a passion for helping people and was dedicated to her job as a nurses aide at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Tracy for over 35 years. She enjoyed meeting new people and was adored by her patients and co-workers alike. Eugenia always said working at the hospital were some of the best years of her life and being named employee of the year was one of her proudest accomplishments. Although she never had children of her own, she had many nieces and nephews whom she cared for and loved dearly. Eugenia was a devoted Catholic and spent her free time traveling with her family and friends. Visitation services, open to friends and family, will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 12-9 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue, and a rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Avenue, followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
