Margarita M. Padilla, age 88, passed away late Thursday night in Manteca, California, surrounded by her family. She was born June 8, 1931, in the Philippines where she was a teacher. She emigrated to San Francisco, California where she lived for 34 years. Margarita enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and would attend her local church daily to pray for her loved ones. Small and fierce, she carried a calm disposition that translated to her career as an adult caregiver for 10 years.
Margarita is survived by her seven children, Bernadette Halog, Rafael, Wilfredo, Geronimo, and Richard Padilla, Pricilla Lomboy, and Leonila Pablo, along with her brother Felicidad Rivera, fourteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 12:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 19 at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Avenue, Tracy, CA. A rosary will be held at this location starting at 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 20 at 11am, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Avenue and Margarita will be interred alongside her husband, Catalino, in the Tracy Mausoleum, 8842 W. Schulte Rd.
