Linda Yvonne Armijo passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 surrounded by her family.
Lyn, as she was lovingly called by her family and friends, was born in Los Angeles, California on August 2, 1948. She was the eldest daughter of the late Herman and Manuela Armijo.
She is survived by brother Herman Armijo, Jr. (Beverly), sister Wanda Monson (Ray), sisters D’Angel and Tuesday Armijo, and brother Michael Armijo.
When Dad’s job relocated the family from Albuquerque, NM to California, Lyn, having completed Business College, began her 45 year career at Sandia National Labs as a secretary. She furthered her education and changed careers to Information Technology as a system administrator.
Lyn enjoyed reading, cooking and trying new recipes, and traveling and music. Her joys in life were being with her family, nieces, nephews, playing with her little “fur babies,” and spending time enjoying the beauty of the ocean. She always talked about our family’s move to California, and how excited she was to see the ocean for the first time
Growing up, we shared many wonderful times together. Lyn was our mentor. She supported us, cheered for us and prayed for us. Lyn was always ready for an adventure. Whatever that happened to be, she embraced it with enthusiasm..
Lyn loved all types of music and she could always be heard, beautifully singing one of her many favorite songs.
She was an avid reader and would quickly finish a book always eager to begin another. Lyn loved to share in detail, the saga of the book she was currently reading.
Lyn’s beautiful smile and magnetic personality, we will always remember and treasure. We loved her quick wit, fun sense of humor and her love of life. She was a friend to many. Her loyal, genuine, loving, and compassionate nature, were wonderful attributes we all admired.
Since moving to Tracy in 1968, Lyn has been a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Bernard’s Parish. Her journey through life has been an inspiration and her strength and faithfulness is a testament to God’s grace. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends and everyone who was blessed to have known her.
