Lillian M. (Perez) Garcia
Resident of Tracy

Lillian M. (Perez) Garcia a Tracy resident for most of her life, passed away at home June 4, 2019. She was born in Mt View, Ca. August 26, 1930. Lillian grew up in a caring household with her parents and three brothers: John Jr., Gregory and Edward Perez.
The family moved to Tracy in 1942. Lillian’s father John Perez was a supervisor at the Tracy Depot, then had a 76 Gas Station on 11thSstreet and Central Avenue in Tracy. Her mother, Dominga Perez, worked at HJ Heinz in Tracy for several years.
Lillian graduated from Tracy High School in 1949. After graduation, she worked for Wells Fargo Bank. In her early years Lillian enjoyed bowling and her team won a trip to Hawaii. She also enjoyed skiing trips to the snow country.
Lillian married Donald Garcia of Pleasanton in 1956 at St. Bernards Catholic Church in Tracy. They moved to Tracy in 1960. Donald was employed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from (1960 to 1993). They had three sons; Steven, Michael, and Ronald, all raised in Tracy. Lillian had a strong devotion to her children. At any sports event involving a family member you could hear her voice over the crowd, “Com-on-blue, have an eye”. She was a spirited fan.
Lillian and Donald liked to take un-scheduled trips. On such a trip they drove meanderingly cross-the country, stopping at points of interest with no restrictions of time and schedule. The goal was to visit Donald’s sister in Michigan, whenever. Such trips either flying or on the road to wherever, whenever became a standard. Visit’s to Washington DC, Yellow Stone, Mount Rushmore, Grand Canyon, were among the trips that they enjoyed.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Donald Garcia; children, Steven Garcia Sr. and Michael Garcia; grandchildren Amber, Ashley, Steven Jr., Garin, Gianna, Garcia; and great-grandchildren, Andre', Alijah, Lexi, and Levi; sisters-in-law, Carmen and Carlotta Perez; brother in-law, Edmond Alves; nephews, Kevin (Laura) and Craig Perez, and Warren Holden: Nieces, Lynette (Perez) Perry, Janell (Alves) Anderson and Jennifer (Alves) Dowden and a host of grand-children.

Lillian was a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She didn’t knit or sew at the girl’s gatherings, but she loved to socialize with them.
Lillian, was a vibrant five-foot, blue-eyed, blonde, bundle of energy who had succumbed to a relentless bout with health issues, but her spirit remained intact and never wavered.
Lillian’s wish is, mourn if you must, but only briefly, let happy memories chase away sorrow.
