Judy Louise Frerichs

November 19, 1954 ~ March 17, 2024 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Tribute

Judy Louise Frerichs passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on March 17, 2024, in Tracy California at the age of 69.

A lifelong resident of Tracy, she attended Central Elementary School, Senior Elementary School, and graduated from Tracy High School in 1972. Growing up, she and her sisters, known as “The Edwards Sisters,” were a folk style band who performed at various events throughout the San Joaquin County. In high school she loved cheerleading and modeling clothing for Tots ‘n’ Teens.

When her kids were little, she was always there to be the room mom at school, and host fun swim parties and sleep overs for their friends. She was also known for joining in to dance with the kids in the living room. At Christmas time she always pulled out her guitar and sang Christmas carols. “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was one of her favorites to sing. Judy shuffled kids to and from practices, games, and always made sure dinner was on the table to eat as a family each night. She was a supportive, kind, and loving mother.

Judy, also known as Ya Ya, to her grandchildren, had a smile that would light up a room. She loved to entertain at her home for family and friends and took great pride in decorating her home during the holidays. Her entire family especially looked forward to Thanksgiving at her house. She was a wonderful cook and was sure to always bring her grandkids their special plate of cookies or dessert of their choice on each birthday.

Judy had a wide circle of friends, who will cherish memories of time spent together, from playing Bunco with the “Bunco Babes,” gathering with neighbors monthly for wine night, lunches and phone calls with lifelong friends and monthly lunches and trips with her “November Girls.”

Her grandchildren were the light of her life. For years, she waited in car lines at school pickups, then made sure to spoil them with a sweet treat somewhere after school. The days at Ya Ya’s were filled with love, laughs, crafts, puzzles, games, and baking.

There will forever be a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her life was a blessing, and her memory is a treasure.

She leaves behind a daughter, Mindy Bogetti (Clayton); son, Andrew Frerichs; grandchildren, Emerson Frerichs-Silveria, Brock Bogetti and Landri Bogetti; sister, Nancy Traina (Wayne); brother, Bobby Edwards (Diane); brother-in-law, Richard Mattos; sister-in-law, Susan Frerichs-Post; a niece and many nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Simeon “John” Frerichs III; parents, William and Dulla Edwards; and twin sister, Janice Mattos.
