Evelyn Frances Machado

Evelyn Machado, a longtime resident of Tracy, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Sutter Tracy Community Hospital. She was born in 1924 in Patterson, California, grew up in Banta and attended Tracy High School.
Evelyn was a homemaker until her children were older and then she worked for the Tracy Joint Unified High School District in the Food Services Department. Evelyn loved good food, socializing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents, Frank and Mary Jacks; sisters Mary Jacks and Belmeda Sequeira; and brothers, Frank and Tony Jacks.
She is survived by her daughter, Arlene Machado of Morgan Hill; son, Art Machado and his wife, Penny, of Portland, Oregon; grandsons, Matthew Machado and wife Jennifer of Portland and Christopher Machado of Portland; sister Delores Parsons of San Jose; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was especially fond of her caregiver Elizabeth Alberto of Tracy.
Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 South Central Avenue, is handling funeral services. Rosary and Vigil services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at St. Bernard’s Church, 163 West Eaton Avenue. Mrs. Machado will be laid to rest at the Tracy Public Cemetery immediately afterward.
