A Christian Burial will be celebrated will be Friday, March 27, 2020, for longtime Tracy resident Art Serpa, 90, who passed away at the Tracy Nursing.
Mr. Serpa was born in Rodeo, California, and lived in Tracy for 88 years. He was a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, a member of the Elks Lodge and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Tracy. He worked for the Shell Oil Company for over 15 years. He also worked for the federal water authority and retired as a senior operator from the California Department of Water Resources. He was an avid Tracy High football fan, and he enjoyed boating and traveling to Alaska and Europe as well as annual travels to the 2nd Infantry Division Association reunions. A member of the original board of directors for the Tracy War Memorial Association, he also participated for several years as one of the honor guards for the VFW.
Mr. Serpa is survived by his son, Chris Serpa, and his wife, Debbie, of McKinney, Texas; a brother, Joe Serpa; two sisters, Adaline Costa and Darlene Bogetti; two grandsons., Matthew & Brian Serpa; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly Serpa; and four siblings, Mary Souza, Deloris Becchi, Anna Konzal, and John Serpa.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 East Schulte Road, Tracy.
