Arthur S. Junqueiro passed away peacefully at the age of 93, surrounded by his loving family on February 24, 2020 in Hughson, California. Arthur was born on June 26, 1926, to the delight of his loving parents Manuel & Mary Junqueiro in French Camp, California. He grew up in Tracy, California, and graduated from Tracy High School in 1944.
He is preceded in death by his parents Manuel Junqueiro and Tony & Mary Bastian and his brother David (Darlene) Junqueiro.
Arthur is survived by his beautiful wife, Charlotte Parker Junqueiro, his sister, Clara Bonde, children Debbie (Don) Cavagnaro, Steven (Theresa) Junqueiro, Ray Junqueiro (Gail) and Jon (Rosie) Junqueiro and his grandchildren Devon Homme, Steven Junqueiro Jr., Deann Walsh, Raechel Junqueiro, Natalie Junqueiro Machado, Sarah Butler, Christina Junqueiro, Seth Junqueiro, Sabrina Junqueiro, Grant Junqueiro, 12 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Arthur served in the U.S. Naval Service during World War II, where he was stationed in the South Pacific. Upon returning to the States, he married his sweetheart, Charlotte Parker and on April 1, 2020 would have celebrated 70 wonderful years of marriage. After his years of military service, he worked as an Operating Engineer in Tracy, California. Arthur was actively involved in St. Bernard’s Dads Club as an officer, Native Sons of the Golden West, Tracy Breakfast Lions Club & Tracy Elks Lodge.
Arthur was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He dedicated his life to his family, friends and enjoyed traveling, camping and being in Lake Tahoe with his family.
If you would like to join us in celebrating Arthur’s life, services begin with visitation at 4:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary Vigil at 6:00 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 550 South Central Ave., Tracy, California. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 163 West Eaton Ave., Tracy, California. A Christian burial with Military Honors immediately follows Mass at Tracy Cemetery located at West Schulte Road and MacArthur Drive.
Remembrance contributions may be sent to City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, St. Bernard’s Catholic Church Building & Maintenance Fund or a charity dear to your heart.
