Allen V. Friensehner passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019, shortly after his 77th birthday. Allen, an only child, was born in Massachusetts to Vic and Phyllis Friensehner on September 18, 1942. Allen and wife Deloma were married in 1978, and recently celebrated 41 years of a loving marriage.
A resident of Tracy since 1950, he graduated from Tracy High School and Modesto Junior College (MJC). His Tracy neighbors still consider him a genius because of his love of electronics and Tracy’s first robot, “Ferro,” that he helped build in the 1970s, which he ran up and down the sidewalk on Halloween.
He joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory shortly after graduating from MJC and worked there for 52 years until retiring in 2012. As a Senior Scientific Associate, he specialized in gamma ray detection and measurements, contributing to numerous scientific studies and reports.
His hobbies included photography and soundstage electronics. His outdoor landscape photographs rivaled those of Ansel Adams. He loved working as an audio engineer and for many years, Allen could be found in Lincoln Park setting up and managing the City of Tracy’s Soundstage trailer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Deloma; his son Leland Friensehner; Denita Schmidt and granddaughter Isabella.
A Christian man of God, Allen attended Tracy Community Church and is a member of Grace Church, Tracy, California. A Celebration of Life will be held at Tracy Community Church, 1790 Sequoia Blvd, on Saturday, October 12th at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Association of Northern California (https://www.panctoday.org).
